BLURB

Kai

I’m a single dad and starting pitcher for Chicago’s MLB team.
I’m stretched too thin, but I don’t want help raising my son.

Each of his previous nannies only lasted a few weeks before I let them go.
Now, my coach is putting his foot down by hiring the one person I can’t fire—his daughter.

Miller Montgomery is the last woman I should fall for. Too wild, too young, and too unattached.

Chicago is just a quick stop for her. I thought I’d be counting down the days until she left, but summer feels too short when I start thinking about forever.

Miller

As a high-end pastry chef who recently won the most prestigious award in my industry, I’m desperate to prove I deserve it. But with a new title comes new pressure, and I can’t create a fresh and inspiring dessert to save my life.

With only two months to get back on track, I should be focusing in the kitchen, but instead, I let my dad talk me into using my time off to nanny for his star player’s kid.

Kai Rhodes forgot how to have fun, and I’m eager to jog his memory. But when he and his son start to feel like home, I have to remind us both that my time in Chicago ends with the summer.

Besides, I’ve always been a runner, and the last thing I want is to get caught.

REVIEW

Caught Up told us about Kai, baseball player star and he has a baby, 15 months for the exact. Since he found out he has a baby, he wants to quit baseball and focus raising his son. But Monty as his coach, managed to keep him on the team. But one problem arise, who will look after of his child when his away for the games. He always fired all the nannies that meant to take care of Max, his baby. Until finally Monty bring this new nanny that can't be fired by Kai, none other than Monty's daughter, Miller Montgomery.

As usual, Windy City series will bring sport romance as one of the trope. I always love to read a romance book that involve baby/little child on the pages. Nanny and single dad is one of the trope this book to offer. I was totally in love with Max, he got a proper amount of screen time on the book and we can see him bonding with all the characters here. Max totally the one make me in love at the first time.

Since this is romance book, the conflict will arise between Kai and Miller. When Kai need to settle for his son, Miller with her own reason can not settle at one place, she always move around. This is the one thing that I read over and over at the beginning of the book and that's why I know that this is the problem. But I still enjoy reading the book even tough I know what will happen.

The one thing I love is the characters, from Kai, Miller and Max. Their relationship as a little family for Max, how protective and loving both of them towards Max. Kai is also the best here, he wants the best for Miller and Max, so he always make sure both of them achieve what they want and needs without thinking about his feeling. And no doubt Miller is the only one want Kai to be happy as he is before Max. Their relationship is so good and the tension between them is so real, they can not get over with each other. You will be a little annoyed when you read about them.

Sometimes we can’t explain how or why we love who we love. We just do. You don’t really get to tell your heart what to do.

We will also meet with the other couple from previous book, we got a little update about their life and relationship of course. I love how they become Kai best friend and welcoming Max to their little family. Not only them, but Kai's baseball team is really the best. They become Max biggest supporter in everything he did. Never leave him alone again after what happen with his mother. Love all the characters here so much! The biggest reason why I love this book so much!

I give this book 4.5⭐ rating with 3.5 🌶 meter. This is adult book so please read the content warning first. Also there is no other women / man come in the picture. If you love romance book, I really recommend this book!
